The January edition of O, The Oprah Magazine features a before and after photo of Oprah at the cover shoot. Inside the issue, Oprah talks about her upcoming 60th birthday, tips for how to make 2014 the best year yet, and her highest achievement.

This issue also features the announcement of the latest Oprah’s Book Club 2.0 Selection, The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd along with a sit down between Oprah and Kidd where Oprah said “I came away from the book with so many layers of empathy, gratitude and understanding of the path that had been paved for me, as an African American woman, daughter of a maid, great-great-granddaughter of a slave, and as a woman in the culture of America.”
On turning 60, Oprah says “I’m alive. Healthy. Strong.  I’m turning 60, and – please don’t take offense – I no longer have to be concerned about what anyone thinks of me!  I’m turning 60, and I’ve earned the right to be just as I am.  I’m more secure in being myself than I’ve ever been.”

Pick up the issue when it hits newsstands on December 17th.
