The wait for Lady Gaga’s much anticipated Vogue cover is over.  The singer revealed the cover of the September issue last night via Twitter to her more than 28 million followers writing, “SHH DONT TELL TWITTER/ SEPT ISSUE OF VOGUE MAGAZINE/ Sorry Anna but the underground kids deserve it. bisous! 1ST.”  Gaga looks statuesque in a texturized fuchsia gown by Marc Jacobs with her platinum blonde hair standing up on her head like an Afro – Gaga herself described the hair do as “channeling Fozzibear.”

All together now, “Grace Coddington is the unsung hero of Vogue magazine!” because she outdid herself making Gaga look picture perfect on the Mert & Marcus shot images.  Even without the shining accoutrement Gaga usually dons in her everyday life, Grace made the singer look high fashion, mature and fun at the same time.  This is a serious couture cover ladies and gents.

Another image accompanying the cover features a naked Gaga sitting on the floor with a gigantic hat with a plume of fuchsia feathers on her head.  Bravo Grace! You keep the thrills coming.  As for the Vogue September issue, it breaks another record with an impressive 916 pages.

Marc Jacobs sent out an image of the team ironing and finishing the gown Lady Gaga wears on the cover with the accompanying caption, “#bornthisway #marcjacobs #dress for @ladygaga @voguemagazine” this morning.  We bet it took everything in their bodies to keep the secret of the magnificent dress from leaking out to the Twitterverse before the cover got revealed.

The issue hits newsstands August 21.  Head over to Vogue.com for a snippet of the Jonathan Van Meter interview with Lady Gaga.
