How to Pack Like a Pro

September 10, 2014

I’m pretty simple when it comes to packing for vacation.  As an avid traveler, I have learned that less is more whether it’s a weekend away or a two week vacay.  When prepping to rack up frequent flyer miles on my next vacay, I usually travel with my carry-on or my LeSportsac weekender bag.  I try to pack smart.  Here are a few of my essentials.

1. LeSportsac Weekender Bag
I love to travel in style, and there’s no better way than going with this! It’s chic and lightweight…plus it’s got lots of compartments to keep small liquids and a bonus makeup bag.

2. Wrap Dress
I usually pack a wrap dress in a solid color, black in the winter or a print in the spring/summer.  This piece can be dressed up or down during the trip so if the occasion calls for something extra fancy, I can zhuzh! up my outfit with accessories and a killer heel.

3. Black and Nude Pumps
I always bring two pumps with me for my outfits.  A black pump usually goes with everything but I bring a nude pump as well for versatility.

4. Leather Clutch
I store all my essentials (id wallet, lip gloss) in a clutch, then put it all in a larger tote. It works because I don’t have to dig through a big bag to find what I need. And once I touch down I can just get up and go with the clutch and leave the large bag in the hotel room. It’s also helpful when taking off jewelry through security. I can just pop my earrings, etc in there, then find them easily afterward.

5. Tory Burch or Toms Flats
Super comfortable and stylish.

6. Rachel Pally Long Wrap Dress
Talk about easy dressing. Planes can be cold and dressing can be a chore, so I typically slip on an easy long wrap dress and keep it moving. I can also dress it up or down.

7. Iman BB Cream

Because BB creams have limited (and mostly lighter) skin color options. But IMAN’s Crème comes in six shades, ranging from light beige to deep mocha, so there’s a version for every skin tone!  It’s an SPF and foundation that even, protect and tones.

8. Lime Crime ‘Red Velvet’ Lip Stain

A quick an easy makeup trip? Wear just a line of Mac Liquid Liner in Boot Black with some Ruby Woo Lipstick. You’ll look glam in minutes.

9. Midi Skirt
I never leave home without one.

10. Silk Scarf
You can wear the silk scarf as a triangle top with a fab necklace.  This can be paired with that Midi Skirt or jeans you bring along with you.

11. Intimates (don’t forget your Carefree Daily Liners – because they are every woman’s must have)

12. Skyn Iceland Face Wipes – these remove makeup and refreshes your face in one swoop.
