Last night, DC Scouts, The Washington Post fashion collateral that delivers fashion, style, shopping deals & local happenings for Washingtonians, celebrated its fifth anniversary with a swag party at the Renaissance Hotel Dupont.

Attended by some of the area’s top fashion and lifestyle bloggers, the party did not disappoint.  The fete was set up like a gifting suite from the Academy Awards, where party goers were given shopping bags and vouchers to redeem for fabulous gifts from some of the top boutiques in the area.

Among the boutiques and designers present were Queen Bee Designs, South Moon Under, Urban Country, Gossip on 23rd, Urban Chic, Hugh & Crye, Hobo, Merle Norman and Scratch DC and Siqin.  Attendees left with candles, OPI nail polishes, jewelry and beauty products.

Aside from having fabulous cocktails from Little Black Dress vodka, wines and beers, guests also noshed on Georgetown Cupcakes and canapes.

Of course it wouldn’t be a swag party without getting dolled up.  Thanks to local beauty salons, those who signed up for salon services received smokey-eye makeovers, blowouts and curling touch-ups in the beauty lounges from Salon Virage, Piaf Salon and Luigi Parasmo Salon.

Prior to the party, several bloggers (including myself) were asked to give fashion and beauty advice to DC Scout readers, which was turned into a limited edition book, The Scout Book: Your Guide to DC Style and Beauty, included in the gift bags.
