Since taking over the helm at Balenciaga, Alexander Wang has surprised skeptics who couldn’t see  possible replacement for Nicolas Ghesquiere.  Wang, however, proved he could play with the big boys with his first collection for the Spanish label.

He churned out sophisticated pieces in muted colors that have been a hit on the red carpet.  For his first campaign for the brand, Wang tapped photographer Steven Klein, who shot model Kristen McMenamy dressed in a black two piece in one image and a black dress with a safety pin for the second. The model is headless in both images, perhaps a way of letting the clothing speak for themselves.
