FASHION Foot Notes — 12 March 2013

Vans-Authentic_Kenzo-Leopard_Peacoat-Spectrum-BlueVans and Kenzo are coming out with their fourth collab, encouraged by the success of their last three series together. This one features kicks printed with Thailand Jungle Tiger prints. The story is that Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, Kenzo’s creative directors, were doing some serious hiking in Asian jungles when they decided to swag their new shoe line out like a jungle boss. All six of this series kicks come out in various colored Tiger prints.

The vibe of the prints lean more towards the ladies, though most guys would be fine with rocking the dark blue colorways in this series. They’re pretty dope universally. The base shoes are vans classics or loafers, so it’s hard to ever go wrong there. The prints are designed by Kenzo, and many of them are eccentrically, outrageously, colorful. Some of the lighter shades in this series, like the ocre (cheetah yellow), look like they should be panties. Literally. You can call it sexy if you’d like; if shoes can be sexy.

Otherwise, this fourth chapter in Vans X Kenzo’s adventures feature a wide range of colors, so it wouldn’t be hard to find something that you can rock. Especially the blue. The series drops on March 15th, so be on the lookout. And be ready to shell out more than a hundred for a pair.
