Dior Campaign 4

Since taking over as creative director of Christian Dior after the tumultuous departure of John Galliano, Raf Simons has made it clear that he is not going to be as avant garde and out of the box as his predecessor.  His first collections, both pret-a-porter and couture have been inspired by Mr. Dior’s original ideas and design aesthetic.  For his first campaign for the French fashion house, Raf Simons tapped photographer Willy Vanderperre to shoot Surrealist images influenced by René Magritte.

Simons replaced model Karlie Kloss with Daiane Conterato, Anna Martynova, Marie Piovesan, and Daria Strokous in the romantic and ethereal campaign.  What the campaign lack in drama makes up for it in beautify and femininity.  After all, Monsieur Dior believed every woman was a flower and should look as beautiful as on.
