FASHION Men's Style — 16 November 2012

Jay-Z did what he promised to do in his single N*ggas in Paris, which was to move the New Jersey Nets to Brooklyn.  And as logic goes, you must change the name to the the city in which the team is housed.  To drill the point home, adidas Originals has created a Brooklyn Nets collection of apprarel and accessories to be worn off the court.

Each piece in the collection is emblazoned with a combinations of the new shield shaped Brooklyn Nets logo and the adidas Originals logo.  Merchandise include t-shirts, a crew neck sweatshirt, a starter jacket and a quilted windbreaker. There is also an exclusive gift set that includes  a classic 1980s style leather duffel designed by adidas Originals, manufactured by SCHOTT N.Y.C. with an interior lining by Brooklyn artist ESPO filled with branded t-shirt and an inaugural season jacket manufactured by Portland brand Dehen.

Though the limited edition kit is not available at retailers, the individual pieces may be purchased at KITH in Brooklyn, adidas.com and adidas retail stores.  Two of the kits are up for auction on eBay.  Proceeds will be donated to the Hurricane Sandy relief in Brooklyn through the Brooklyn Community Foundation. Love the duffel? Five are available at each of the KITH locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn for $750 each.  Brooklyn based restaurants, bars, clubs and shops will also receive a special doormat with the message, Good To Be Home, on November 15th made out of black regrind rubber.
