Emmanuelle Alt as been flying under the radar since taking the helm at Vogue Paris but that doesn’t mean she has been sitting idle. Alt has been staging a revamp of the iconic magazine, unveiling its new format in the September issue. She tapped Kate Moss, Lara Stone and Daria Werbowy for individual covers for the issue. All three models wear the same sheer black Dolce & Gabbana dress with hair slicked back, rouged lips and nails.
The ‘black’ themed issue is clean with 64 pages of fashion editorials shot by Mert & Marcus, who also shot the covers. The magazine’s revamp is a throwback to its Sixties and Seventies aesthetic. Hmm…we wonder if Alt and YSL’s new creative director Hedi Slimane have been trading notes.
The new Vogue Paris will have more profile of influencers who fit its image and culture, as well as new columns, one which we’re very excited about. Blogging sensation Garance Dore will have a two-page feature called “Humeur” (“Mood”) in which she will give he views on fashion topics, accompanied by her illustrations.
As much as we loved Carine Roitfeld’s Vogue Paris, we’re anxious and excited to see Alt’s new direction.
