Accessories FASHION Foot Notes — 31 July 2012

Now these are shoes fit for a Glamazon!  Paris-based designer Walter Steiger knows what women want, super vertiginous heels that turn heads.  He’s an industry vet whose signature heel on his shoes is a sexy curve. If you thought flats and kitten heels are in for fall, you thought wrong.

Walter Steiger is introducing his newest heel collection, the Unicorn, which looks pretty intimidating but we’re sure heel lovers will step up to the challenge. The Walter Steiger Unicorn heels stand at 6.69 inches, yes ladies.  With a generous platform at the front, there is a possibility you won’t topple over.  It’s time to head over to the ballet studio to work on that foot flexibility.

Steiger’s spring collection, featuring his Unicorn heels, will include pops of color in the form of pink, blue, purple as well as metallic and embroidery effect prints.  Pieces in this collection will set you back a few grand. Though his basic pump sells for $650, most of his ornate designs retail for 7,000 to $10,000. Time to get saving, then head to Barneys, Bergdorfs or the Walter Steiger flagship in Manhattan and splurge.
