Designer Betsey Johnson invited a few fashion and beauty editors to Milk Studios on Tuesday morning for the launch of her latest women’s fragrance Too Too, her second fragrance. The iconic designer also celebrated her 69th birthday with the entire room of fashionistas singing ‘Happy Birthday‘ to her in chorus.

Too Too, an ode to young, lively and free-spirited girls, is a fresh scent with a sparkling blend of floral and fruity aromas derived from notes of mandarin, sweet passion fruit, ginger and strawberry. The perfume gets its feminine mid-notes from Bulgarian rose and jasmine; and its base with patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla.  The flacon, in the shape of the bodice of a ballerina in a pink and black tutu, is inspired by vintage Schiapparelli bottles as well as Jean Paul Gaultier’s iconic glass bottles.

Betsey, a former ballerina, proved she’s still got the chutzpah and zeal by doing a split. If only we could all be so lucky to be this fit and lively at the age of 69.

The morning was carousing one with a fabulous DJs that energized the crowd for the 9am breakfast party, champagne and Betsey Johnson branded cupcakes, live ballerinas and a dance performance.  Too Too by Betsey Johnson – retailing for $42 to $82 – will be available at on-line and in Betsey Johnson and Sephora brick and mortar stores in 50 ml and 100 ml bottles in October.    The fragrance collection will also include body lotion and a mini roller ball version.
