Unlock breast cancer with a Key to the Cure tonight at Saks Fifth Avenue

October 15, 2009

Tonight kicks off Key to the Cure, a national campaign to raise awareness and money for research for breast cancer, at Saks Fifth Avenue in Chevy Chase. Come for a fabulous night of shopping, entertainment, open bar and tastings from some of the best local restaurants.

Try your luck with the “Key to the Treasure” Raffle. You can purchase a key to the treasure box for $50, or three keys for $100. Admission to the KEY TO THE CURE is $75 per person. 100% of the proceeds from ticket and raffle sales benefit Women’s Cancer Programs at Suburban Hospital. How many charities can say that? Come fashionably dressed in support of women’s health.

The event starts at 6pm tonight and is sure to be a good time so make sure you get there early.

Saks Fifth Avenue is going a step further by launching a limited edition t-shirt designed by American designer Michael Kors which retails for $40. Over $30 from the sale of each shirt will benefit a local breast cancer charity. There’s even more, Saks will donate 2% of sales up to $250,000 over the campaign weekend of October 15 – 18 to local and national women’s cancer partners. Now that’s music to my ears, shopping for a cause!

Other designers have designed a shirt for breast cancer awareness month with proceeds benefiting breast cancer research. Renee Zellweger rocks the Juicy Couture long sleeved tee.

Gwyneth Paltrow shows off Karl Lagerfeld’s rendition of the tee.
