Dolce & Gabbana’s British Inspired Fall Collection

June 29, 2008

Romance, youth, drama and sophistication were the themes in the 2008 fall collection of Dolce & Gabbana. The design duo’s collection is a sophisticated journey to 1970s London with tweed skirts, printed silk scarves, country-check shirts and poor boy sweaters. Never the ones to shy away from innovation, Dolce & Gabbana created a collection built on playfulness and sophistication. Fur-printed chiffon blouses, skirts, and puffer jackets were all part of the collection.

The designers updated the traditional suit; gone are wide leg pants and straights fits, in with the well-tailored skinny-legged pants suits. Dolce & Gabbana’s collection invoked the feeling of romantic autumn days with longer silhoutted dresses and skirts that hit mid-calf as well as fur-printed chiffon blouses, skirts and dresses. Strapless crinoline gowns with flirty ribbons and layers completed the collection. (scroll down for more)

The accessories in the collection compliment the clothes. Fall trends from the collection include opaque tights, chunky heeled knee high boots and oxford shoes, and patent leather bags in rich fall colors. The sheer elegance of the runway show transferred to the fall advertising campaign with beautiful dramatic photos shot by fashion photographer Stephen Klein.

Dolce & Gabbana’s collection is versatile and wearable. The unified collection is for the young, the old, the dramatic, the feminine, the masculine, the enigmatic, the romantic or the flirt. Every piece in the collection will compliment most of your fall clothing and accessories. If you intend to update your work or play wardrobe, make room for D&G’s fall collection.
